Intensive Outpatient Services

Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP) provides individuals with substance use and/or mental health challenges an opportunity to receive intensive treatment, concentrated over the course of several weeks to better ensure a successful treatment outcome. Although a schedule is individualized based on need, typically IOP treatment occurs 3 hours a day for 3-5 days a week, with a gradual reduction of frequency over a period of multiple weeks. As a recognized best standard of outpatient treatment protocol, combined with psychiatric assessment and treatment, IOP services allow individuals to continue to work or attend school while they receive necessary treatment.

Outpatient Services

Outpatient (OP) treatment services include individual and/or family therapy that occurs once or twice weekly to support an individual’s efforts to address and overcome substance use and/or mental health challenges.

Costs

Costs related to IOP and OP treatment service are often covered by private insurance. Daytop New Jersey will verify insurance coverage and work with your insurer to access benefits that will cover the cost of treatment. Alternate forms of funding based on eligibility may be obtained, and Daytop New Jersey offers sliding scale financial assistance as well. It is our commitment not to turn individuals away due to inability to pay.

Screening/Admissions

An intake professional is available Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm to help assist you with the screening, insurance and appointment process. In most cases, the screening can be completed with your first call, but if that is not feasible, we will call you back within 24 hours (during regular business hours) to complete the process. Screenings can be completed via telephone when appropriate and brief screenings are completed initially to ensure the treatment needed is consistent with what Daytop New Jersey offers and to verify insurance coverage (and/or assess for financial assistance). Following the initial screening, a comprehensive evaluation is scheduled with a licensed clinician within 2 business days.
